Dear Debby,

Thanks again for talking with me today. It's great to be a part of a larger network of homeschoolers.

Mr. Charles Robinson called one of our members yesterday(Oct. 29, 2008), leaving a message on her cell phone. Mr. Robinson left an 800 number for her to call (866-968-7512.) He called back today saying that he was following up on her request for information regarding the Wyoming Virtual School. When our member had said that she had never requested information, nor was she interested, Mr. Robinson started asking questions about the number of kids she had, what grades, and what curriculum she was using, in order to complete a survey he was doing. Our member refused to answer questions.

She subsequently found out that Mr. Robinson works for K12, out of Virginia. The number he called from was (703) 483-7000. We were glad that our member knew about the WY Virtual School, and that she knew she didn't have to answer questions. I am passing this along to warn others in the homeschooling community of this activity, particularly because the man was not forthcoming about who he was, and where he got his information, and he was wanting "personal" information. I've included the phone numbers he used so that when they show up on your caller id, you might have a "heads up" about who is on the other end.

Thanks again.
